STIHL MS271 Farm Boss Chainsaw – 50.2 cc, 2.6 kW

STIHL MS 271 Farm Boss Chainsaw – Product Description

Tackle even the toughest jobs with the STIHL MS 271 Farm Boss high-performance chainsaw. The MS 271 incorporates many of the best features STIHL saws have to offer. This intermediate-sized tool comes with an 18-inch bar and a 50cc engine displacement. Built for serious home users, it can handle large amounts of wood with ease. With just under 3.5 horsepower, it has the power to cut full-grown trees. Weighing just over 12 pounds, it allows you to work for hours without fatigue.

The MS 271 features a durable air intake filtration system with pre-separation. Heavy particles are eliminated by centrifugal force before reaching the filter, keeping it cleaner for longer compared to traditional systems. If the intake becomes clogged, a carburetor compensator automatically adjusts airflow to maintain performance. Carburetor heating prevents the engine from icing in winter. In cold weather, the intake air is pre-heated by the hot powerhead fins before entering the filter. In summer mode, the intake is redirected away from the powerhead to prevent overheating. Switching between the two modes requires only a flip of a switch.

STIHL has equipped the MS 271 with advanced combustion technology. Four overflow channels spin the fuel-air mixture before ignition, ensuring complete combustion and maximum efficiency. As a result, the MS 271 produces 50% fewer emissions compared to conventional two-stroke chainsaws.

For safety and comfort, the chainsaw includes a two-handed grip, a safety throttle, anti-kickback protection, and a front hand guard. Its anti-vibration handle with built-in shock absorbers minimizes strain during long hours of use. The side-access chain tensioner makes adjustments simple. Tool-free fuel and oil caps are tethered to prevent loss, while a translucent tank makes fuel level checks easy.

Additional safety features include an automatic inertia-activated chain brake, which stops the chain within one second in case of kickback, and an automatic chain oiler for continuous lubrication during extended use. Thanks to its highly efficient engine, the MS 271 also provides up to 20% longer run times between refueling. Rugged, powerful, and designed with user safety in mind, the MS 271 Farm Boss is built for demanding cutting tasks.
